
MERIDEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Police cordoned off a street in Meriden for multiple hours as they examined a collision site.
The accident happened at approximately 2:48 p.m. in the vicinity of Woodland Ridge and Golden Street.
According to police, a 2005 Toyota 4Runner plunged down a 40-foot slope into an wooded section.
A person who was 19 years old got stuck inside the vehicle.
The Meriden Fire Department arrived and extracted her from the vehicle. She sustained injuries not considered life-threatening and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection intervened because they were concerned that automotive fluids might be contaminating a nearby stream.
According to the police, the evaluation of the stream concluded that it is safe.
The roadway was reopened approximately at 6:45 p.m.
