The New York State Department of Transportation is warning motorists about impending lane reductions on both the Northbound and Southbound sides of I-81 in Syracuse.
The lane reductions will be implemented from April 8 to 15 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. These lane reductions are necessary for stripe work as part of the Interstate 81 Viaduct Project.
- Northbound Interstate 81 will have only one lane available from the point where I-690 connects westbound to I-81 northbound up until Exits 23-24B (Park Street/Hiawatha Boulevard/Livergold).
- I-81 southbound will have only one lane available from Exits 23A-23B-22 (Hiawatha Boulevard/Destiny USA Drive/Bear Street) down to Exit 20 (Franklin Street/West Street).
The progress of construction is contingent upon the weather and can be modified according to prevailing circumstances.
